Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of people in Central Coast NSW compared to the Warnervale - Wadalba District shows that there was a higher proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 9.7% of the population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 7.0% for the Warnervale - Wadalba District.

The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in the Gorokan District and the Warnervale - Wadalba District were:

  • A larger percentage of persons aged 75 to 79 (21.3% compared to 16.1%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 85 and over (41.7% compared to 36.8%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 20 to 59 (5.0% compared to 3.8%)
