Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of females in Central Coast NSW compared to the Mountains District shows that there was a higher proportion of females who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 7.9% of the female population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 3.6% for the Mountains District.

The major differences in the female age groups reporting a need for assistance in Wyong, Warnervale and Gorokan and the Mountains District were:

  • A larger percentage of females aged 80 to 84 (27.9% compared to 15.8%)
  • A larger percentage of females aged 70 to 74 (12.9% compared to 4.9%)
  • A larger percentage of females aged 75 to 79 (19.9% compared to 12.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of females aged 85 and over (43.5% compared to 50.0%)

Emerging groups

The major differences in the female age groups reporting a need for assistance between 2016 and 2021 in Wyong, Warnervale and Gorokan were in the age groups:
