Dominant groups

Analysis of the types of dwellings for people reporting a need for assistance in Central Coast NSW in 2021 shows that 78.2% of people with a need for assistance were in separate houses; 18.7% were medium density dwellings, and 2.3% were high density dwellings, compared with 68.7%, 18.4%, and 12.4% in the Greater Sydney respectively.

Emerging groups

The total number of people reporting a need for assistance in dwellings in Central Coast NSW increased by 6,579 between 2011 and 2021.

The largest changes in the type of dwellings for people reporting a need for assistance in Central Coast Council area between 2011 and 2021 were:

  • Separate house (+5,867 persons)
  • Medium density (+1,277 persons)
  • High density (+252 persons)
  • Caravans, cabin, houseboat (-62 persons)
