Dominant groups

Analysis of the country of birth of people aged 65 to 74 years in Central Coast NSW in 2021 compared to Australia shows that there was a smaller proportion of people born overseas.

Overall, 23.8% of people aged 65 to 74 years were born overseas, compared with 34.0% for Australia.

The major differences between the countries of birth of people aged 65 to 74 years in Central Coast Council area and Australia were:

  • A smaller percentage of people born in China (excludes SARs and Taiwan) (0.8% compared to 2.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of people born in Vietnam (0.1% compared to 1.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of people born in Italy (0.7% compared to 1.8%)
