Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Fitzroy in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (1,451 males or 46.9%)
- Managers (555 males or 17.9%)
- Technicians and Trades Workers (246 males or 7.9%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 2,252 males in total or 72.8% of the employed male resident population.
In comparison, Fitzroy North employed 48.3% in Professionals; 19.3% in Managers; and 8.8% in Technicians and Trades Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Fitzroy and Fitzroy North were:
- A larger percentage of males employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (2.8% compared to 1.5%)
- A smaller percentage of males employed as Professionals (46.9% compared to 48.3%)
- A smaller percentage of males employed as Managers (17.9% compared to 19.3%)
Emerging groups
The number of employed males in Fitzroy increased by 376 between 2016 and 2021.
The largest changes in the occupations of male residents between 2016 and 2021 in Fitzroy were for those employed as:
- Professionals (+252 males)
- Managers (+71 males)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (+64 males)
