Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Central Richmond in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (824 females or 18.1%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (823 females or 18.1%)
  • Education and Training (488 females or 10.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,135 females in total or 46.9% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, the City of Yarra employed 17.3% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 18.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 11.5% in Education and Training.

The major difference between the jobs held by the female population of Central Richmond and the City of Yarra was:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in financial and insurance services (6.0% compared to 4.8%)
