Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Fitzroy in 2021 compared to IMP region shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 11.1% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 7.1% were one-parent families, compared with 12.1% and 5.2% respectively for IMP region.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a similar proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 35.2% compared to 38.9% in IMP region while the proportion of couples without children was 25.8% compared to 25.6% in IMP region.
