Dominant groups

Analysis of the share of the male population attending educational institutions in the City of Yarra in 2021 compared to Cremorne and Burnley - Richmond South shows that there was a lower proportion attending primary school, a similar proportion attending secondary school, and a higher proportion engaged in tertiary level education.

Overall, 4.4% of the male population were attending primary school, 3.1% of the male population were attending secondary institutions, and 9.5% were learning at a tertiary level, compared with 5.2%, 3.3% and 7.8% respectively for Cremorne and Burnley - Richmond South.

The major differences between the share of the male population attending learning institutions in the City of Yarra and Cremorne and Burnley - Richmond South were:

  • A larger percentage of males attending University (7.5% compared to 5.8%)
  • A smaller percentage of males not attending (75.1% compared to 77.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of males attending a Government primary school (3.4% compared to 4.4%)
