Dominant groups
Analysis of the ancestry responses of the population in Central Richmond in 2021 shows that the top five ancestries nominated were:
- English (4,969 people or 37.6%)
- Australian (3,732 people or 28.3%)
- Irish (2,201 people or 16.7%)
- Scottish (1,590 people or 12.0%)
- Greek (832 people or 6.3%)
In combination these five ancestries account for 13,324 responses in total, or 100.89% of all responses.
The major differences between the ancestries of the population in Central Richmond and IMP region were:
- A larger percentage of people with English ancestry (37.6% compared to 27.1%)
- A larger percentage of people with Australian ancestry (28.3% compared to 19.4%)
