5,711 people living in Happy Valley in 2021 were employed, of which 57% worked full-time and 38% part-time.

Dominant groups
The size of Happy Valley's labour force in 2021 was 5,956, of which 2,150 were employed part-time and 3,251 were full time workers.
Analysis of the employment status (as a percentage of the labour force) in Happy Valley in 2021 compared to Hills North District shows that there was a lower proportion in employment, and a higher proportion unemployed. Overall, 95.9% of the labour force was employed, and 4.1% unemployed, compared with 96.6% and 3.4% respectively for Hills North District.
Analysis of the labour force participation rate of the population in Happy Valley in 2021 shows that there was a lower proportion in the labour force (62.8%) compared with Hills North District (66.9%).
