Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in City of Maroondah in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (8,693 people or 14.7%)
  • Construction (6,365 people or 10.8%)
  • Education and Training (5,991 people or 10.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 21,049 people in total or 35.7% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Greater Melbourne employed 13.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.3% in Construction; and 8.8% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the City of Maroondah and Greater Melbourne were:
