More Wyong residents worked in health care and social assistance than any other industry in 2021.

Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Wyong in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (303 people or 18.0%)
- Retail Trade (183 people or 10.9%)
- Construction (157 people or 9.3%)
In combination, these three industries employed 643 people in total or 38.3% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Woy Woy - Blackwall employed 17.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.3% in Retail Trade; and 10.2% in Construction.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Wyong and Woy Woy - Blackwall were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed in manufacturing (8.0% compared to 4.4%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed in arts and recreation services (2.2% compared to 1.1%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in professional, scientific and technical services (4.6% compared to 6.7%)
