Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Wyong in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (303 people or 18.0%)
  • Retail Trade (183 people or 10.9%)
  • Construction (157 people or 9.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 643 people in total or 38.3% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Woy Woy - Blackwall employed 17.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.3% in Retail Trade; and 10.2% in Construction.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Wyong and Woy Woy - Blackwall were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in manufacturing (8.0% compared to 4.4%)
