29,667 people living in East Brisbane Water and Coastal in 2016 were employed, of which 58% worked full-time and 37% part-time.

Dominant groups
The size of East Brisbane Water and Coastal's labour force in 2016 was 31,208, of which 10,950 were employed part-time and 17,174 were full time workers.
Analysis of the employment status (as a percentage of the labour force) in East Brisbane Water and Coastal in 2016 compared to Narara Valley District shows that there was a higher proportion in employment, and a lower proportion unemployed. Overall, 95.1% of the labour force was employed, and 4.9% unemployed, compared with 93.4% and 6.6% respectively for Narara Valley District.
Analysis of the labour force participation rate of the population in East Brisbane Water and Coastal in 2016 shows that there was a lower proportion in the labour force (59.9%) compared with Narara Valley District (60.5%).
Emerging groups
