In 2011, dwellings with 3 bedrooms were the most common amongst recent arrivals in the City of Maroondah.

Analysis of the number of bedrooms in dwellings for recent arrivals in the City of Maroondah shows that there was a lower proportion of recent arrivals in dwellings with 1 or 2 bedrooms, as well as a lower proportion in dwellings with 4 or more bedrooms compared to the Greater Melbourne in 2011.
Overall, 32.7% of recent arrivals were in 1 or 2 bedroom dwellings, and 21.1% in 4 or more bedroom dwellings, compared with 33.7% and 25.0% for Greater Melbourne respectively.
The major differences between the number of bedrooms per dwelling for recent arrivals in the City of Maroondah and Greater Melbourne were:
- A larger percentage of people in 2 bedrooms (31.6% compared to 25.6%)
- A larger percentage of people in 3 bedrooms (45.0% compared to 39.2%)
- A smaller percentage of people in 0 or 1 bedrooms (1.1% compared to 8.2%)
- A smaller percentage of people in 5 bedrooms or more (3.1% compared to 5.3%)
