Dominant groups

Analysis of the car ownership of non-English speakers in the City of Maroondah in 2021 compared to the total population in the City of Maroondah shows that 96.0% were in households that owned at least one car, while 3.3% did not, compared with 94.7% and 2.6% respectively in the total population in the City of Maroondah.

Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion owned just one car; a similar proportion owned two cars; and a smaller proportion that owned three cars or more.

Overall, 31.5% of non-English speakers were in households that owned one car; 45.7% owned two cars; and 18.8% owned three cars or more, compared with 24.2%, 45.8% and 24.7% respectively for the total population in the City of Maroondah.
