Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of people in the City of Maroondah compared to the City of Maroondah shows that there was a higher proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 6.5% of the population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 6.0% for the City of Maroondah.

The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in Ringwood and the City of Maroondah were:

  • A larger percentage of persons aged 75 to 79 (18.6% compared to 14.6%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 60 to 64 (8.1% compared to 5.9%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 65 to 69 (8.9% compared to 7.3%)
