Dominant groups
The size of the City of Maroondah's non-English speaking labour force in 2021 was 12,183 persons, of which 3,618 were employed part-time and 7,258 were full time workers.
Analysis of the employment status (as a percentage of the labour force) of non-English speakers in the City of Maroondah in 2021 compared to the total population in the City of Maroondah shows that there was a lower proportion in employment, and a higher proportion unemployed. Overall, 94.4% of the non-English speaking labour force was employed, and 2.9% unemployed, compared with 96.0% and 1.9% respectively for the total population in the City of Maroondah.
Analysis of the non-English speaking labour force participation rate of the population in the City of Maroondah in 2021 shows that there was a higher proportion in the labour force (67.2%) compared with the total population in the City of Maroondah (65.4%).
Emerging groups
Between 2011 and 2021, the number of non-English speaking population employed in the City of Maroondah showed an increase of 5,103 people and the number unemployed showed an increase of 61 people.
