Dominant groups

Analysis of the language used at home by the population of the City of Maroondah in 2021 compared to Bayswater North Community Renewal Area shows that there was a similar proportion of people who used English only, as well as a similar proportion of those using a non-English language (either exclusively, or in addition to English).

Overall, 76.9% of the population used English only, and 19.8% used a non-English language, compared with 77.0% and 19.5% respectively for Bayswater North Community Renewal Area.

The dominant language used at home, other than English, in the City of Maroondah was Mandarin, with 4.7% of the population, or 5,455 people using this language at home.
