Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Ringwood in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (731 males or 14.2%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (586 males or 11.4%)
  • Manufacturing (505 males or 9.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,822 males in total or 35.5% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, the City of Maroondah employed 18.3% in Construction; 10.0% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; and 10.2% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Ringwood and the City of Maroondah were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (11.4% compared to 10.0%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in accommodation and food services (5.7% compared to 4.5%)
