Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Croydon in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (1,376 males or 19.8%)
  • Manufacturing (755 males or 10.8%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (620 males or 8.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,751 males in total or 39.5% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, the City of Maroondah employed 18.3% in Construction; 10.2% in Manufacturing; and 10.0% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Croydon and the City of Maroondah were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in construction (19.8% compared to 18.3%)
