Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in the City of Maroondah in 2021 compared to Heathmont shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 34.1% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 10.9% were one-parent families, compared with 39.3% and 9.5% respectively for Heathmont.

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a similar proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 24.3% compared to 21.1% in Heathmont while the proportion of couples without children was 24.6% compared to 24.6% in Heathmont.
