Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Lakemba in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Retail Trade (655 people or 13.8%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (607 people or 12.8%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (506 people or 10.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,768 people in total or 37.2% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Canterbury Ward employed 9.2% in Retail Trade; 13.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 5.6% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing.
