Greenacre - Mount Lewis - Chullora is bounded by the northern boundary of the Chullora rail workshops and the Hume Highway in the north, Roberts Road, Moondo Street, Roberts Road, Juno Parade, Punchbowl Road and Koala Road in the east, Wattle Street, Hillcrest Avenue and Old Kent Road in the south, and Stacey Street and Rookwood Road in the west.
Greenacre is named after a small cultivated area along the first road through the area. Greenacre was originally known as East Bankstown. Mount Lewis is named after the highest point in the area. Chullora is thought to be named from an Aboriginal word meaning “flour”.

Settlement of the area dates from the mid 1800s. Growth was minimal until the early 1900s. Significant development occurred during the post-war years, including public housing construction in Greenacre. The population increased gradually from the early 1990s, a result of new dwellings being added to the area, particularly medium density housing.

This area encompasses the suburbs of Chullora and Mount Lewis, and the City of Canterbury Bankstown part of the suburb of Greenacre. The remaining part of the suburb of Greenacre is located in the Strathfield Council area.
