Dominant groups

Analysis of the male five year age groups of Sefton in 2021 compared to Yagoona shows that there was a lower proportion of males in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a lower proportion of males in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 21.3% of the male population was aged between 0 and 15, and 12.6% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 22.7% and 13.9% respectively for Yagoona.

The major differences between the male age structure of Sefton and Yagoona were:

  • A larger percentage of males aged 10 to 14 (8.9% compared to 7.2%)
  • A larger percentage of males aged 15 to 19 (8.4% compared to 7.0%)
