Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Mile End in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (170 males or 12.9%)
  • Construction (150 males or 11.4%)
  • Retail Trade (129 males or 9.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 449 males in total or 34.1% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, the City of West Torrens employed 8.8% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 12.0% in Construction; and 8.5% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Mile End and the City of West Torrens were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (12.9% compared to 8.8%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in retail trade (9.8% compared to 8.5%)
