Morphett Ward is bounded by Warren Avenue, James Melrose Road, Morphett Road, Mooringe Avenue, Streeters Road, Errington Street, Osborne Terrace and Lydia Street in the north, Marion Road in the east, Wattle Terrace, Anzac Highway, Ferguson Street and Ronald Terrace in the south and Pine Avenue, Burrupa Avenue, Shannon Avenue, McCann Avenue, Bonython Avenue and Shannon Avenue in the west.

Settlement history

Settlement of the area dates from the 1840s. Growth took place from the early 1900s into the interwar period, spurred by the construction of the tramway. Significant development occurred in the post-war years, particularly during the 1960s. The population increased slightly from the mid 1990s as new dwellings were added to the area.
