Plympton Ward is bounded by Richmond Road in the north, Grove Avenue, Galway Avenue, Marion Road, Murdoch Avenue, Birdwood Terrace, Urrbrae Terrace, Gray Street and Beckman Street in the east, the tramway, Marion Road, Lydia Street, Osborne Terrace, Errington Street, Streeters Road and Mooringe Avenue in the south and Morphett Road and the eastern boundary of the Adelaide Airport in the west.

Settlement history

Settlement of the area dates from the 1840s. Growth took place in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The most significant development occurred during the post-war years. The population fluctuated slightly between 1991 and 2011, largely due to small changes in dwelling stock and dwelling occupancy rates.

Plympton Ward is an established residential area, with industrial areas in the north.
