Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Rural North in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (387 males or 29.9%)
  • Manufacturing (96 males or 7.4%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (94 males or 7.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 577 males in total or 44.6% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, The Hills Shire employed 14.0% in Construction; 7.0% in Manufacturing; and 13.0% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Rural North and The Hills Shire were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in construction (29.9% compared to 14.0%)
