Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Gables in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (138 males or 15.8%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (91 males or 10.4%)
  • Retail Trade (77 males or 8.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 306 males in total or 34.9% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, The Hills Shire employed 14.0% in Construction; 13.0% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; and 8.3% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Gables and The Hills Shire were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in public administration and safety (7.1% compared to 5.3%)
