Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in North Rocks in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (441 females or 21.0%)
  • Education and Training (352 females or 16.8%)
  • Retail Trade (226 females or 10.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,019 females in total or 48.6% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, East Ward employed 20.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 14.3% in Education and Training; and 9.6% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of North Rocks and East Ward were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in education and training (16.8% compared to 14.3%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in retail trade (10.8% compared to 9.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in professional, scientific and technical services (8.9% compared to 11.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in financial and insurance services (6.2% compared to 8.1%)
