Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in North Ward in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (3,202 people or 12.5%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (3,110 people or 12.2%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (2,489 people or 9.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 8,801 people in total or 34.4% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Rural North employed 19.5% in Construction; 8.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 7.7% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of North Ward and Rural North were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (12.2% compared to 8.1%)
