Dominant groups
Analysis of the five year age groups of Norwest in 2021 compared to North Rocks shows that there was a lower proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) and a higher proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 14.8% of the population was aged between 0 and 15, and 22.0% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 19.6% and 17.6% respectively for North Rocks.
The major differences between the age structure of Norwest and North Rocks were:
- A larger percentage of persons aged 25 to 29 (8.7% compared to 5.1%)
- A larger percentage of persons aged 30 to 34 (9.0% compared to 6.0%)
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 10 to 14 (3.5% compared to 7.2%)

From 2011 to 2021, Norwest's population increased by 3,540 people (297.5%). This represents an average annual population change of 14.8% per year over the period.
The largest changes in age structure in this area between 2011 and 2021 were in the age groups:
- 35 to 39 (+384 persons)
- 30 to 34 (+333 persons)
- 25 to 29 (+314 persons)
- 20 to 24 (+281 persons)
