Analysis of the country of birth of the population in South West Corner in 2016 compared to the City of Adelaide shows that there was a larger proportion of people born overseas, as well as a larger proportion of people from a non-English speaking background.

Overall, 48.8% of the population was born overseas, and 43.4% were from a non-English speaking background, compared with 44.2% and 36.5% respectively for the City of Adelaide.

The largest non-English speaking country of birth in South West Corner was China, where 21.0% of the population, or 315 people, were born.
