Dominant groups

Analysis of the country of birth of the population in Lower North Adelaide in 2016 compared to the City of Adelaide shows that there was a smaller proportion of people born overseas, as well as a smaller proportion of people from a non-English speaking background.

Overall, 25.1% of the population was born overseas, and 15.5% were from a non-English speaking background, compared with 44.2% and 36.5% respectively for the City of Adelaide.

The largest non-English speaking country of birth in Lower North Adelaide was China, where 4.3% of the population, or 93 people, were born.

The major differences between the countries of birth of the population in Lower North Adelaide and the City of Adelaide were:
