Dominant groups

Analysis of the country of birth of the population in CAD East in 2011 compared to the City of Adelaide shows that there was a larger proportion of people born overseas, as well as a larger proportion of people from a non-English speaking background.

Overall, 57.6% of the population was born overseas, and 50.4% were from a non-English speaking background, compared with 40.7% and 32.1% respectively for the City of Adelaide.

The largest non-English speaking country of birth in CAD East was China, where 16.8% of the population, or 390 people, were born.
