Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Highgate in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (108 females or 26.8%)
  • Education and Training (61 females or 15.1%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (39 females or 9.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 208 females in total or 51.6% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, the City of Unley employed 25.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 14.3% in Education and Training; and 10.9% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Highgate and the City of Unley were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (26.8% compared to 25.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in retail trade (6.2% compared to 8.3%)
