Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Highgate in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (108 females or 26.8%)
- Education and Training (61 females or 15.1%)
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (39 females or 9.7%)
In combination, these three industries employed 208 females in total or 51.6% of the total employed female resident population.
In comparison, the City of Unley employed 25.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 14.3% in Education and Training; and 10.9% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.
The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Highgate and the City of Unley were:
- A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (26.8% compared to 25.5%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed in retail trade (6.2% compared to 8.3%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed in financial and insurance services (2.2% compared to 3.7%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed in professional, scientific and technical services (9.7% compared to 10.9%)
Emerging groups
The number of employed females in Highgate increased by 23 between 2016 and 2021.
There were no major differences in Highgate between 2016 and 2021.
