Unley Park is thought to be named after the hamlet of Undley in Suffolk, England.

Settlement history

Settlement of the area dates from 1840, with land used mainly for farming, orcharding, grazing and dairying. Gradual growth took place during the 1850s, 1870s and 1880s. Significant development occurred in the early to mid 1900s. The population and dwelling stock fluctuated slightly between 1991 and 2011.
