Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in City of Unley in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (3,750 people or 18.8%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (2,591 people or 13.0%)
  • Education and Training (2,141 people or 10.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 8,482 people in total or 42.6% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Greater Adelaide employed 17.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 7.1% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; and 9.0% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the City of Unley and Greater Adelaide were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in professional, scientific and technical services (13.0% compared to 7.1%)
