Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in the City of Playford in 2016 compared to Greater Adelaide shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 27.4% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 17.1% were one-parent families, compared with 28.7% and 11.1% respectively for Greater Adelaide.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 24.5% compared to 26.2% in Greater Adelaide while the proportion of couples without children was 20.5% compared to 24.8% in Greater Adelaide.
