Elizabeth West is named for the area west of Elizabeth, which is named after Queen Elizabeth II.

Settlement history

Development of the area dates primarily from the 1960s. Rapid growth took place during the 1970s. The population fluctuated slightly between 1991 and 2011, a result of small changes in dwelling stock and the average number of persons living in each dwelling.

Davoren Park - Elizabeth West is an established residential and industrial area, with industry located mainly to the south of Womma Road.
