Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Sunshine in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (429 females or 21.8%)
  • Education and Training (240 females or 12.2%)
  • Retail Trade (185 females or 9.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 854 females in total or 43.4% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Sydenham - Hillside employed 21.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 11.8% in Education and Training; and 13.8% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Sunshine and Sydenham - Hillside were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in public administration and safety (7.2% compared to 6.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in retail trade (9.4% compared to 13.8%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in transport, postal and warehousing (3.6% compared to 5.4%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in construction (1.3% compared to 2.7%)
