Deer Park District is bounded by Main Road West, Station Road, Gladstone Street and Jones Creek in the north, the Western Ring Road in the east, Boundary Road in the south and Robinsons Road and Kororoit Creek in the west.

Settlement history

Settlement of the area dates from the 1850s, with land used mainly for farming. Industrial growth took place in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Significant residential development did not occur until the 1960s. The population increased substantially from 2001, a result of large numbers of new dwellings being added to the area. Recent growth has been mainly in Cairnlea (on the site of the former Albion Explosives Factory) and Derrimut (the Brimbank Gardens estate).
