The size of Cairnlea's female labour force in 2021 was 2,376, of which 985 were employed part-time and 1,051 were full time workers.
Analysis of the female employment status (as a percentage of the labour force) in Cairnlea in 2021 compared to the City of Brimbank shows that there was a higher proportion in employment, and a lower proportion unemployed. Overall, 93.4% of the female labour force was employed, and 6.6% unemployed, compared with 92.0% and 8.0% respectively for the City of Brimbank.
Analysis of the labour force participation rate of the female population in Cairnlea in 2021 shows that there was a higher proportion in the labour force (57.2%) compared with the City of Brimbank (50.8%).
