The three largest ancestries in Delahey in 2021 were Australian, Vietnamese and English.

Dominant groups
Analysis of the ancestry responses of the population in Delahey in 2021 shows that the top five ancestries nominated were:
- Australian (1,063 people or 13.2%)
- Vietnamese (1,019 people or 12.6%)
- English (902 people or 11.2%)
- Maltese (580 people or 7.2%)
- Chinese (556 people or 6.9%)
