Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Limestone Coast region in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (4,012 males or 24.2%)
  • Manufacturing (2,640 males or 15.9%)
  • Construction (2,160 males or 13.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 8,812 males in total or 53.2% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Regional SA employed 19.6% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 12.5% in Manufacturing; and 13.1% in Construction.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Limestone Coast region and Regional SA were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (24.2% compared to 19.6%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in manufacturing (15.9% compared to 12.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in mining (0.9% compared to 4.4%)
