Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in City of Mount Gambier in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (2,057 people or 16.6%)
  • Retail Trade (1,559 people or 12.6%)
  • Manufacturing (1,179 people or 9.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 4,795 people in total or 38.8% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Limestone Coast region employed 12.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.2% in Retail Trade; and 11.1% in Manufacturing.
