Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Eyre in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Manufacturing (47 males or 14.8%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (41 males or 12.9%)
  • Construction (36 males or 11.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 124 males in total or 39.0% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Virginia employed 10.3% in Manufacturing; 10.9% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing; and 16.2% in Construction.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Eyre and Virginia were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in health care and social assistance (6.9% compared to 1.7%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in public administration and safety (10.4% compared to 5.4%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (1.9% compared to 19.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in construction (11.3% compared to 16.2%)
