Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in City of Playford in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (4,936 females or 26.6%)
  • Retail Trade (2,651 females or 14.3%)
  • Education and Training (1,889 females or 10.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 9,476 females in total or 51.0% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Rural East employed 21.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 8.1% in Retail Trade; and 15.7% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of the City of Playford and Rural East were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in retail trade (14.3% compared to 8.1%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (26.6% compared to 21.8%)
