Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Rural East in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (78 females or 21.8%)
  • Education and Training (56 females or 15.7%)
  • Retail Trade (29 females or 8.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 163 females in total or 45.7% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Elizabeth East employed 26.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.4% in Education and Training; and 13.9% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Rural East and Elizabeth East were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in education and training (15.7% compared to 9.4%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in professional, scientific and technical services (7.3% compared to 1.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in retail trade (8.1% compared to 13.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (21.8% compared to 26.4%)

Emerging groups

The number of employed females in Rural East increased by 40 between 2016 and 2021.

There were no major differences in Rural East between 2016 and 2021.
