Dominant groups
Analysis of individual income levels in Rural East in 2021 compared to Elizabeth North shows that there was a higher proportion of people earning a high income (those earning $2,000 per week or more) and a lower proportion of low income people (those earning less than $500 per week).
Overall, 13.8% of the population earned a high income, and 32.8% earned a low income, compared with 1.5% and 46.0% respectively for Elizabeth North.
The major differences between Rural East's individual incomes and Elizabeth North's individual incomes were:
- A larger percentage of persons who earned $2,000 - $2,999 (9.2% compared to 0.7%)
- A larger percentage of persons who earned $1,500 - $1,749 (6.8% compared to 2.0%)
- A smaller percentage of persons who earned $300 - $399 (7.9% compared to 15.5%)
- A smaller percentage of persons who earned $400 - $499 (7.1% compared to 13.7%)
